Just a little update on Siobhan...
Yesterday we yanked the H&R Sports off the car, and replaced them with H&R Race + E90 drophats. The result? Perfection! The ride is very taut, bu not past the limits for a DD car. I am in heaven with the setup right now!
I am going to replace the rear brake pads today, and possibly replace the giubo. Other than that, she's mechanically perfect right now! My wife and I are taking her to GutenFest in May, and doing a 2-week vacation/driving tour in her, and I cannot wait!!!!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

Well, it's been awhile since I posted any updates, but I HAVE been busy!
The H&R Race springs are installed now, and I LURVE `em! WAY stiffer than the H&R Sports. Can't see ever going back to those, although I COULD see going to coils.
I finally got around to installing my Castro's airbox.
Love it!
My wife and I are about to take Siobhan cross-country for Guten Fest 2012, and I wanted her to look pretty for the event. To that end, I installed a little 'bling' on her windshield today.
Very happy with how this came out!
Siobhan had been running too hot, and I knew that the cooling system was fully bled, and the radiator was new. I had a 76C thermostat in the car, and suspected that it might be faulty. I bought an 82C one at Advance Auto and tested it at the same time I tested the old one. The new (higher temp thermostat) one opened WAY earlier and opened MORE than the old (lower temp) one. Now she sits right at halfway, or slightly below. Even sitting still for a long time, she barely creeps over halfway!
Guten Fest 2012, here we come!!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

Well, time for some updates on Siobhan!
My wife, Angel, and I had a blast on our road trip to the East Coast and Guten Fest. Siobhan performed perfectly the whole time! The ONLY issue I had was a brake light switch that broke in Indianapolis, and I spent several hours trying to track down a new one. Ultimately I was successful, and the rest of the trip was flawless.
After I got back from the East Coast, I did my first ever HPDE at Heartland Park in Siobhan. I am HOOKED!! About a month after that I decided to update Siobhan a little, and had Bob Buxbaum pull the rear subframe and replace my subframe bushings and trailing arm bushings with poly bushes. While he was in there, we added the rear SS brake lines. The CSB got replaced as I'd had some driveline vibration, the brake pads were replaced with EBC Green Stuff pads, and he flushed the system with DOT4 fluid. The result? A car that feels so much tighter that it's hard to explain! That same weekend, Jeremy Salenius sold me his TRM lightweight race wheels (15x7, ET25 and 13.1LBS a piece!) and Bob popped `em on.
Siobhan with her new shoes!
More to come on Siobhan soon!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

Local photography stud Kyle Lackey was shooting some pics of a friend's Avus blue E36 328is yesterday, and was gracious enough to take a few pics of Siobhan as well. I have been so busy lately that I hadn't even had a chance to clean her up, yet somehow Kyle managed to make her look great! Thanks Kyle!
[BTW, check out his page on Facebook page, Kyle Lackey Automotive!]
This motivates me to do more work on Siobhan in the coming months!

So, my S52 has just been sitting in my garage, unloved, unused for about 6 months now. Actually, ever since I got the head back from Metric Mechanic, come to think of it! So I decided it was about time I got off my butt and got to work on it.
Pretty packages of S52 thingies should start arriving Tuesday! WOOT! More updates SOON!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

I am going to try to finish restoring the CSI wheels over the next few weeks. Not much spare time right now. My oldest daughter is getting married in a few days, and then it's my work's busy time. In the meantime, here's a quick shot just to see how the wheels will look on Siobhan. The lips will be polished; the centers will be cleared over the raw metal. Wheel bolts will be gunmetal, except for a few that I'm going to mess with...
A long way to go, but I think they're going to look great!!
More soon! WOOT!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.
